Zebrafish are teleosts (bony fish) that share with mammals a common ancestor belonging to the phylum Osteichthyes, from which their endoskeletal systems have been inherited. Indeed, and numerous genetically conserved features in terms of skeletal elements, ossification mechanisms, bone matrix components common.
